Youth to Youth Outreach offers many different opportunities for middle and high school students in Licking County to choose an alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) free lifestyle, gain knowledge and build resistance skills.

Through our middle school clubs, students participate in bi-weekly club meetings where they gain valuable knowledge about the effects of ATOD use and build their resistance skills to the everyday pressures to use drugs and alcohol.

Youth Advisory Board (YAB) offers high school students the opportunity to meet other students their age from all over Licking County who are choosing to live a drug free life. Weekly meetings support and encourage their commitment to maintain a happy, healthy, drug free lifestyle and build their leadership, communication and teamwork skills through asset building and personal development.

Alternative Activities are produced for middle and high school students throughout the year. Lock-ins, in-state trips, movie nights and putt-putt tournaments offer students the option to socialize, interact and have fun all while being drug free.

The early intervention program employs techniques that allow active involvement in learning about drug abuse. Sessions are facilitated by a Prevention Specialist trained to educate about the risks associated with drug use and the benefits of a healthier lifestyle.

Participants will recognize reasons not to use, develop resistance to negative peer and media pressures, foster effective communication skills, expand their decision making and problem solving abilities and develop a healthier self-esteem. Early intervention is not treatment; it is a proactive step before treatment.

The early intervention program consists of one-hour sessions over a five-to-seven week period of time.

Fees: $125.00
